ABOUT ME
I’m Gina Piccalo Howe —a former Los Angeles Times staff writer, journalist, certified astrologer, and Marriage and Family Therapy intern pursuing clinical licensure. My work has long existed at the intersection of psyche and culture. Today, I work through two distinct professional practices: supervised psychotherapy through Nashville Therapy Group and astrology consultations through my independent astrology practice. I help clients make meaning of complex transitions with insight that is emotionally deep, intellectually rigorous, and grounded in pattern recognition.
From cultural critique to symbolic interpretation
My professional life began in journalism. I spent years reporting on culture, power, creativity, and public life, learning how to listen closely, ask more precise questions, and locate the deeper story beneath the surface. That orientation has remained central to everything I do.
Astrology became a parallel language for meaning-making, one that helped me understand timing, relationship dynamics, identity, and the hidden emotional structures that shape a life. Over time, my work with astrology clients deepened my interest in family systems, attachment, trauma, and the process of lasting relational change. That evolution eventually led me to pursue graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Two distinct ways of working with me
As a Marriage and Family Therapy intern, I provide supervised psychotherapy to adults, couples, and families through Nashville Therapy Group. My clinical interests include family-of-origin patterns, relational trauma, attachment, neurodivergence, emotional regulation, identity, and significant life transitions.
Separately, I offer astrology consultations for people seeking symbolic insight into personal patterns, relationships, and periods of change. Astrology consultations are not psychotherapy or mental-health treatment.
Across both areas of my work, I bring close listening, intellectual rigor, emotional depth, and a strong capacity for recognizing the patterns beneath the presenting story.
I see psychotherapy clients in person in Nashville and online where permitted through Nashville Therapy Group. Astrology consultations are scheduled separately available online.
